1. What is the OATH
Program?
OATH is a non-profit
organization that helps people without prescription coverage
access free medications from the drug companies. OATH
coordinates the whole process for our clients including all
research, paperwork, phone calls, mailing of applications and in
many cases even notifies you when your medications are ready to
be picked up at your doctors office.
2.
How do I know if my medications are on a free program?
When you talk to one of the OATH
staff or volunteers they can tell you over the phone.
3.
How do I get started?
Call the OATH office that is
closest to you to schedule an appointment. You will be asked
about your medications and told what you need to bring with you
to your appointment. Print and complete our “intake form” from
this website and bring it with you to speed up your appointment.
4.
How many medications can you help me with?
As many as are on the free
programs. There are more than 1,000 different medications
available.
5.
Where do I get the medications?
In most cases the medications
are sent to your doctors office and you will be called to let
you know that you can go there and pick them up. Sometimes the
medications can be sent directly to your home. The medications
never come to the OATH office, we only help with the paperwork.
6. Are there any
age limits?
No, we can help children, adults
and seniors.
7.
Is there any fee for OATH’s service?
Because we are a non-profit
organization we do have a nominal fee per application but if you
are financially unable to pay the fee you are not turned away
and we will be happy to help you. The fees are only to help to
keep our doors open.
8. If I have Medicare or Medicaid can I still qualify for free
help?
This depends on the actual
medication that you are taking. The staff at the OATH office
can give you all of the details. In some cases some of your
medications may qualify and some may not but we work to know
every possible way that there may be to help you.
9. What are
the income guidelines?
Generally, if you are living on
a fixed income, low income or indigent you will most likely
qualify financially as long as you do not have prescription
coverage from another source. There are hundreds of programs
with many different financial guidelines so when you call our
office we will be able to give you all of the help you need.
10. Is the medication list on this website the only meds that you
can help with?
No. The list on this site is of
the most commonly prescribed medications that we can help with
but again, there are more than 1,000 different meds available on
the free programs so we encourage you to call our office if you
don’t see your medication(s) listed.
11. How is OATH different from the other programs I hear about on
TV?
Well, we all access the same
programs but OATH is different because we coordinate the whole
process for you. OATH does not just give you the applications
and send you on your way to manage the process alone.
12. Can you
help Spanish speaking people?
Yes. We have bi-lingual staff and volunteers in all of our
offices.
