OATH is a non-denominational, faith based, non-profit
organization that accesses free medications directly from
the drug manufacturer's Prescription Assistance Programs. We
started with one small office in Beeville and have now
replicated our program to include offices in: Bee, Goliad,
Live Oak (2), Jim Wells, and Nueces counties.
Even though we have 8 different offices in 7 counties, we
have no geographic boundaries. We have helped the patients
of more than 420 different doctors and medical facilities.
Why is OATH different from other Prescription Assistance Programs?
OATH is
different than other programs because we coordinate the process as
follows:
OATH
handles all screening and appointments
OATH
completes the applications.
OATH sends
all applications via certified mail for quicker processing.
OATH takes
some phone calls from drug company and client so no calls have
to be made to the doctor's office
Most meds
come directly to the doctor's office. OATH can coordinate with
doctors' offices to call patients when the medications are in.
doctors
are responsible for signing applications and writing the
appropriate 90-day prescriptions (no generics) and giving them
to the patient.
OATH
coordinates everything before and after.
How is OATH funded?
We could
not keep our doors open without private donations, grants and
the support of many of the counties where our offices are
located. OATH is a 501 (c) 3 organization, so any donation
is tax deductible and goes directly towards helping needy Texans
access the medicines that they need.
If you
wish to make a tax deductible contribution to The OATH
Program, our mailing address is
